The turnover of accommodation establishments in Germany decreased by two thirds in the first quarter
Turnover in German accommodation fell by two-thirds in the first quarter due to pandemic restrictions, but by March, the decline had slowed, according to a report released on Monday by the German Federal Statistical Office, Destatis.
In the first three months, 22.6 million guest nights were registered at accommodation establishments in Germany, 68.8 percent less than a year before.
Foreign guests spent 20.2 million guest nights in the country, 66.2 percent less than in the first quarter of 2020. The 2.4 million guest nights spent by residents, on the other hand, are 81.1 percent lower than a year before. (MTI)
