Wages and salaries are up by two percent
At enterprises employing a minimum of 5 people and at budgetary institutions, gross average wages were 1.3 percent higher and net average wages improved by 1.4 percent in the first seven month of 2009, compared to the same period in 2008. In the competitive sector, real wages grew by 0.4 percent, at budgetary institutions they shrank by 8.1 percent. Those working full time earned an average of HUF 198,100 (HUF 197,100 at enterprises and HUF 203,200 at budgetary institutions). At the level of the national economy, the average net wage was equivalent to HUF 122,100 (HUF 90,000 for blue-collar workers and HUF 155,200 for white-collar workers).
