World wine production increased by two percent this year
The world's wine production this year is expected to grow by two percent to 275.7 million hectoliters. Italy will be the largest producer, followed by France and Spain – the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) announced on Wednesday in Paris.
After the record production of two years ago and last year's downturn “the wine production in 2015, can be considered as a strong average” – according to the organization's statement, which expects this year’s wine production between 270.7 and 280.7 million hectoliters, after several countries, including China and Russia, the world's 8th and 12th largest wine producers have not yet announced this year's forecasts.
