Preparing for the holiday peak: this is how courier services operate during the Christmas period
As the holiday season approaches, online stores and courier services are preparing for the busiest time of the year. Based on the experience of recent years, the number of orders increases dramatically after Black Friday, and parcel delivery services reach their peak in December, Pénzcentrum points out.
Conscious customers and efficient systems: the key to success
The logistics manager of Sameday courier service, Árpád Bokodi, said that the company has prepared everything for the holiday season. The appropriate courier staff, vehicle fleet, and parcel machines and Pick Pack Points available nationwide ensure smooth operation.
However, customers play a major role in successful delivery:
Accurate data must be provided (address, zip code, phone number).
Parcels must be collected from the machines quickly.
It is worth ordering from a reliable source, especially on online marketplaces.
Choosing domestic online stores can speed up delivery, as packages from foreign sellers can take up to 10-12 days to arrive in Hungary.
GLS: flexible collection options
GLS Hungary is also preparing for the holiday season at full capacity. More than 2,000 GLS machines and 1,000 GLS CsomagPonts in the country ensure that every customer can choose the most suitable collection method for them. Most of the machines are available 0-24 hours a day, so packages are available at any time.
GLS also provides weekend customer service support this year, between November 23 and December 22 on Saturdays and Sundays between 8:00 and 16:00 on the phone number +36 (29) 88 66 70.
