Mary-Ker Pasta
– My father established the company in 1990 and named it after my mother, Mária. I joined the family business in 1995, going through every step from packaging to distribution. With the experience I have gained over the years, I am ready to take over the leadership of the company.
How did you prepare for the takeover?
– As a child I saw how the business worked and over the years I have come to understand the dedication and commitment it takes to run a company. I have built up my education and professional experience accordingly, first acquiring business and food knowledge and then working in different areas in the company, to get a picture of every process from production to sales. It was also important for me to be aware of family values and traditions, and to know how to integrate them into the future of the business.
What does the generation change mean for Mary-Ker Pasta?
– A generation change isn’t just about someone taking over as the new leader of the company, it is also an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the operation. It is very important for me to respectfully continue my father’s work and to keep the values on which the successful foundations of our business were built. At the same time I recognise and respond to the challenges of the future, and I want to develop the company, e.g. the introduction of the latest automated manufacturing technologies and data-driven decision making will allow us to manage production and logistics processes even more efficiently.

How is the handover of the baton going?
– Generation change takes place step by step, it is a long-term process that requires more and more responsibility. My father continues to stand by me and helps from the sidelines when needed, while I gradually master the leadership role and learn all the details of running the company.

Generation change is not only about a change of position, but also about huge responsibility and opportunity
What are your future goals?
– I have had my own family for more than 25 years: I have two daughters whom I would like to involve in leading the company. My goal is to ensure that our family business and the Mándy name remain a strong and respected in the domestic pasta industry. Quality, reliability and commitment to our customers will remain our core values, but I want the company under my leadership to remain innovative, sustainable and competitive for decades to come.

Innovation, quality, sustainability
How do you see the future of Mary-Ker Pasta on the market?
– Maintaining and improving quality is of paramount importance to us, so that we can preserve our competitive edge on the market. This lays the groundwork for of our brand name and the trust of our customers. (x)
