Hungarian candy industry is facing a bitter year
The new hamburgertax – officially called national health care product-tax – offers a bitter year for the Hungarian Sweets Industry, especially considering that incredients have also faced a rather significant inflation in the past few years.
It is very likely, that the prices of candies will see a 15-20 percent increase in the very near future – among other harrowing issues, this was pointed out by theAssociation of the Chocolate, Biscuit and Confectionery Industries of the EU (CAOBISCO) on Friday, within the compass of a press conference. At the moment, the candy-industry of Hungary is responsible for a 100 billion HUF of revenue, which means 160-180 billion HUF when using exact prioces in the shops.
