Anuga’s exhibitors and visitors are seeking for a way out of the crisis
Anuga, the world's largest food fair reached its half-point on Monday. The more than ever additional events indicate that market players are consciously and specifically looking for development opportunities.
In the Hall number 10 many discussions were about the previous day's forum’s theme among the 350 dairy exhibitors.
– The prices of mass products are in historical lows, over the past 12 months – said Ake Hantoft, Vice-President of the Danish company Arla. Improvement is only expected in case of increase in demand, such as China. Ake Hantoft believes that it has become necessary in the EU to reform the structure of the dairy industry. It remains important to keep the EU's intervention in order to influence the favorable buying markets.
From Monday's fringe events the forums about selling opportunities to the three major developing countries stands out. In Russia and China the chain's own brands market share is. only 2-2 percent. One hundred businessmen took part on the event dealing with the risks and opportunities of Western European food retailers – and their suppliers. India’s rapid evolution of demand can be a way out – was said on another event.
