Ceres Zrt. is building a bread factory in Tata
Ceres Sütőipari Zrt. is building the largest capacity bakery plant in Central and Eastern Europe with an investment of 24 billion forints in the Tata Industrial Park – the company’s corporate director told MTI.
According to István Mikos, the most modern The first phase of the toast bread factory equipped with technology will create 100 new jobs.
The 14,000 square meter factory hall is being built on a seven-hectare area purchased by the company with the support of the company’s parent company, the Czech Agrofert Group.
Thanks to the development, the largest capacity bakery in Central and Eastern Europe will be created by 2027, where 100 tons of bread will be made daily. The plant’s products are planned to reach the Czech Republic, Slovakia and southern countries in addition to the Hungarian market.
When planning the investment, the group examined several locations, including Győr, Bábolna and Mosonmagyaróvár. After comparing logistics, local conditions, prices, proximity to the capital and the highway, they finally chose Tata – explained the director.
István Mikos said that professional training is important to the company, which is why they presented the Jávorka Sándor Agricultural and Food Technical School in Tata with a shock cooler and are investigating the possibilities of further cooperation.
Ceres is currently present in Győr and Miskolc, primarily producing daily products, loaves, toast breads, cakes, and products that can be incorporated into a health-conscious diet.
The company is the legal successor of the Győr- és Vidéke Sütőipari Vállalat, founded in 1953. Ceres Zrt. currently employs 200 people.
According to publicly available company reports, the company’s net sales revenue in 2023 was 13 billion forints, with an after-tax profit of 1.2 billion forints. Sales revenue decreased to 12 billion forints in 2024, with an after-tax profit of 0.4 billion forints.
