X-Fit Kft. withdrew biscuits from sale due to allergen
X-Fit Kft. has recalled the Myprotein brand Gooey Filled Cookie Double Chocolate and Caramel Flavour 75 gram product from circulation due to an undeclared wheat allergen, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the information, based on a notification received through the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), an undeclared wheat allergen was identified in the double chocolate and caramel biscuits originating from the United Kingdom. Some of the product also arrived in Hungary through a Dutch importer.
The National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority contacted the company concerned, X-Fit Kft., without delay. The company, in cooperation with the NKFH, and with the health protection of consumers in mind, immediately took the necessary measures within its own jurisdiction and ensured the recall of the affected items from consumers.
The authority is monitoring the measures taken by the company, as well as the further fate, destruction and transport of the recalled products, the NKFH said.
In its statement, the authority asked anyone who purchased the recalled product not to consume it.
