The yields of autumn-harvested plants are favorable
Autumn crops have promising good yields, and harvesting has begun on time – the Ministry of Agriculture (MTI) announced on Monday.
According to the announcement, the crop area of maize has grown by 4.6 percent compared to last year’s 983,000 hectares. Yields are expected to be 9.5 percent higher than the average of the last five years, at around 8.2 tonnes per hectare. The National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) estimates this year’s harvest at 8 million tonnes.
The sunflower is currently being harvested, and the crop has already been stored in about half of the 570,000 hectares. (MTI)
