The watermelon season starts with a positive outlook
This year's watermelon yield is forecasted to have superior quality, thanks to the good weather – said Simonka György, president of the Hungarian Watermelon Association.
Nationally, farmers are growing watermelon on more than five thousand hectares. Fifty – sixty percent of the expected yield will come from the Southern part of Békés County. This year a sweeter and better-quality crop is expected, compared to last year, thanks to the good weather and the high quality soil and the use of modern technology – said Simonka – reports MTI.
