Kaufland Introduces Lower-Carbohydrate Potatoes To Fresh Assortment
German retailer Kaufland is now offering a variety of potatoes with lower carbohydrates as part of its fresh assortment, to address consumer demand for lower-carb products.
The new Coronada variety contains on average 30% less carbohydrates than other potatoes, and Kaufland is the first retailer to offer these potatoes on sale in its stores. The retailer also sells low-carbohydrate noodles, muesli, bread and cookies. The Coronada potatoes are distributed under the brand name Linella.
Furthermore, the potato is cultivated according to environmentally-friendly standards and is especially suitable for salads, baking and roasting. (ESM)
