In Catalonia, reusable intimate hygiene products are provided free of charge
In Catalonia, reusable intimate hygiene products are provided for free to women.
Women should have a “free and informed choice” about how they want to manage their menstrual cycles. This is only possible if they have access to adequate and correct information about the body and health, Tania Verge, the councilor of the provincial government behind the initiative, emphasized at the launch of the program on Monday.
The aim of the measure is to end menstrual poverty, which according to surveys affects one in ten women in Spain, and to promote sustainability, as around nine thousand tons of disposable feminine hygiene products are generated annually in the region of my car.
