Aldi trials checkout-free stores in Utrecht
Early next year Aldi Nord will start testing a checkout-free store in Utrecht, as part of a broader test to see how artificial intelligence can simplify the shopping process for customers. The retailer is cooperating with Trigo on the new concept store, with the technology firm specialising in developing AI-supported infrastructure for retail stores; the test will run for a period of 12 months.
