GVH’s eyes set on cartels
The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) organised a press conference to introduce Cartel Chat, an online service that can be used anonymously and safely to get in touch with GVH about any cartel-related topic. GVH president Miklós Juhász told that the competition authority gives priority to act against cartels because they have a really harmful effect on the development of the economy, causing severe and direct damages to consumers and decreasing the level of efficiency in general. Cartel Chat ensures that those who have confidential information about market conduct that breaches competition law can share it with the authorities, without having to be afraid of negative consequences. On 1 December 2015 GVH launched a leniency policy campaign.
