The Hungarian Confectioners’ Craft Union (MCI) announced its first “Christmas Tree Trunk Cake” competition this year, with the support of Debic.

Interest exceeded all expectations, with a total of 38 products entered by the competitors.

“The goal is for these creations to be incorporated into the offerings of pastry shops and for the winning cake to be made in as many places as possible. We plan to organise the competition every year from now on”,

told Dorina Németh-Fejszés, marketing manager of Debic.

The three winners received Debic gift certificates worth HUF 150,000, 100,000, and 75,000, respectively. The gold medal went to Krisztián Füredi (Hisztéria Confectionery, Tápiószecső) for his creation called Golden Temptation. The runner-up was Magical Christmas by Izabella Varga and Ádám Novák (Reök Artisan Confectionery and Café, Szeged), while the bronze medal winner was Anett Törő, pastry chef of Essence Hotel in Pogány, for her creation Blood Orange, Coffee and Hazelnut.
