The CAP’s legitimacy must be justified after 2020
The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is the oldest EU policy that has played a major role in the creation of a unified common market and must justify its legitimacy beyond 2020 and deliver clear- results to the European citizens – Czerván György, Minister of state of the Ministry of Agriculture said at a meeting of the V4 countries’ agricultural committees held in the Houses of Parliament.
According to Czerván György, the agricultural policy goals laid down in the contract remain valid, they can not be overridden with other purposes. In order to increase agricultural competitiveness, to preserve the stability of markets and to ensure the income of producers, the CAP funds should continue to be available to the farmers – he added.
