Inflation in the euro area declined in June
According to preliminary data from the European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat, inflation in the euro area fell in June.
In June, according to preliminary data, consumer prices rose 1.9 percent after 2 percent in May. Analyst expectations also included 1.9 percent for June.
The European Central Bank (ECB) aims to keep inflation below, but close to, 2 percent over the medium term. (MTI)
