The Milk Products Council will host the World Milk Day event on 6 June
Due to the positive physiological effects of milk and to draw people’s attention to the importance of calcium intake, the International Dairy Association appointed the last Tuesday of May to be the World Milk Day in 1957, and since 2001 the United Nations World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has already set a specific date, 1 June.
On this day, we celebrate one of our most important and versatile basic foods and all that the dairy sector contributes to the proper nutrition of mankind, sustainability, economic development, health, ie life.
Dairy farmers and dairy processors face the greatest challenges of the 21st century, such as the climate change, the environment and the pollution of our own habitat, population growth, and the demand for more and healthier, but also nutritious and more sustainable food.
