July storms in numbers: the biggest damage at Generali Insurance is nearly 400 million forints
According to Generali Insurance, Hajdú-Bihar, Pest and Csongrád counties were the most affected: about half of the reports came from here. We also encountered the highest value of damages in these counties. The largest residential damage report came from Vecsés: the roof structure of a family house was significantly damaged in the stormy wind and hail, the damage was nearly 20 million forints.
According to the insurance company, the largest corporate damage occurred in Debrecen, where the stormy weather damaged the roof insulation, lightning protection system, solar panels and supporting structures of the buildings – the damage was approximately 400 million forints.
Nearly 90% of the damage was caused by the stormy wind in the buildings – mainly roofs, shutters, solar panels and garden furniture, but also vegetation. This was followed by approx. Damage to technical and electronic equipment due to secondary effects of lightning strikes was 5-6%. Hail and cloudburst were responsible for relatively less damage in the July storm.
