The shopping malls of the future will be community centers
The shopping malls of the future will be community centers. The health, education and entertainment units will be fundamentally part of these community centers – CBRE Estate Consultant’s Retail Future 2030 research reveals.
It is reported that shopping mall owners and developers are increasingly focusing on consumer expectations and will start creating integrated communities where they can live, work, and buy. Traditional refueling stations (petrol stations) become important mini logistics centres, as they are an ideal place to take online purchases.
Andrew Phipps, head of European Retail Research at CBRE, says that the role of shopping malls, filling stations and retailers will also change. Investors and tenants must be prepared for the changing trends in advance and adapt not only when it is already in place.
