Far more food is thrown out in the world than previously thought
Previous research has all underestimated the amount of food thrown away, according to Dutch researchers, every person in the world has 500 calories of wasted food a day.
If that amount of food didn’t go to the trash, instead of four people, five would have food – wrote BBC News on Thursday.
According to the study, as the earnings grow, the amount of food thrown away increases. The amount of food thrown away can be up to twice what they once thought. This is also shocking because reducing food waste is one of the key points in the fight against climate change. (MTI)
