EU voted yes for the acquisition of Cora by Auchan
The European Comittee has accepted the acquisition of Cora-supermarkets by Auchan.
The domestic subsidiary of the French Auchan announced in late December last year, that the previous owner of the Cora hypermarket chain,Louis Delhaize Group’s finally promised to purchase the seven Cora hypermarkets in Hungary. Since the total turnover of the two firms involved in the merger excessex five billion euros, or 250 million euros per company, the domestic expansion of Auchan is a community-level case, therefore the EU needed to vote yes to make the acquisition happen.
