Lighter, eco friendly champagne bottles to come

In the homeland of champagne in the French province of Champagne, champagne glasses will be replaced with more environmentally-friendly bottles.

Instead of the former used 900-gram bottles, the champagne factories of Champagne province will use 7 percent lighter, 835 gram bottles – announced by the local Association of Champagne Manufacturers.
The transition is although not mandatory for manufacturers, but according to the association in one or two years, almost every factory will use the new, lighter bottles – reports penzcentrum.hu., after decanter.com.
