Who dares wins!
Online grocery retailer Kifli.hu has launched a promising, very 21st-century gastro project, called Kifli Bistro! The pandemic has given a boost to the recently dwindling ‘meal kit’ concept of restaurants. Kifli.hu joined forces with two well-known Budapest restaurant businesses, the Zsidai Group and Meatology restaurant to start the Kifli Bistro meal kit service. The two restaurants have the shock freezer equipment that is necessary for the concept and also the financial background for launching the service.
Kifli’s intention is to give back the taste of restaurant meals to consumers: by using the shock freeze technology the flavours are locked inside the dishes, and the meals can be kept in the fridge for days. The representatives of Kifli told that when setting the prices, they paid special attention to offer meals cheaper than restaurants do; the food delivered as part of the concept serves two people.
What Kifli Bistro does is different from home-delivered restaurant food in many ways. Meal kits are delivered within 4 hours and those who order need 2-3 hours to prepare the dishes – but this can be done even 2-3 days after the delivery. Our magazine believes that the new service is going to be successful, thanks to the expertise and the background of the project’s participants. //
