McDonald's all-day breakfast is a huge success
Net income for the quarter dropped 9 percent to 1.09 billion USD, resulting in earnings of 1.25 USD per share. Excluding the impact of one-time charges, Mickey D’s posted 1.45 USD in earnings per share — a figure that beat the 1.38 USD consensus of analyst.
The weakest part of McDonald’s second quarter results was easily its same store sales. Analysts were expecting the company’s all-day breakfast gambit to lead it to 3.4 percent same store sales growth in the U.S.; instead, McDonald’s posted U.S. same store sales growth of just 1.8 percent .
