The best from the best
The 10th CBA National Wine Competition – one of the main elements in the retail chain’s Vinotéka programme – was held early March. Chief winemaker Árpád Vincze and his team had preselected 500 wines from the 1,002 entries sent in by 155 wineries that were judged with blind tasting in 8 groups by 50 winemakers and sommeliers. CBA communications director Attila Fodor told that selecting the best wines doesn’t mean replacing the old wine selection in full but updating it. The Vinotéka programme started in 2007 and it is very popular among customers: since its launch the retail chain’s wine sales have tripled. (x)
