Legislation and subsidies help to increase irrigated areas
The new legislation, which came into effect in January 2020, provides an opportunity to expand irrigated areas in Hungary, for which simplified irrigation development plans can be made and farmers can set up irrigation communities – origo wrote.
The new law, which the government expects to increase the efficiency of agricultural production, makes the public interest nature of irrigation a key principle. Győrffy Balázs, president of the National Chamber of Agriculture, spoke about the new system to Origo. (origo)
