We have good news for farmers: the increase in agricultural producer prices accelerated again in June
After the previous month’s stagnation, the increase in agricultural producer prices accelerated again in June: after 45.4 percent in May, purchase prices were on average 48.3 percent higher in June than a year earlier, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The price of plant growing and horticultural products was 52.3 percent higher than last June, which is 4.5 percentage points faster annual growth than in May. The 43.1 percent increase in the purchase price of live animals is also 4.0 percentage points higher, while the increase in the price of animal products slowed down by 8.7 percentage points to 31.7 percent, but this is due to the slowing down of the price increase of unspecified “other animal products”, because eggs and the price of milk rose by 31.4 and 43.6 percent faster than in May by 4.6 and 8.1 percentage points, respectively. The acceleration in the price increase of vegetable products was caused by vegetables and fruits, the annual increase in the price of vegetables jumped by 14.5 percentage points to 27.7 percent since May, that of fruits jumped by 21.3 percentage points to 1.8 percent, while in May they were 19.5 percent cheaper on average were more than a year earlier. According to KSH data, the increase in the price of head cabbage accelerated by 13.8 percentage points to 17.8 percent, the price of lettuce rose by 12.5 percentage points to 24.1 percent, and the 21.3 percent increase in the price of cucumber is 7.1 percentage points higher than in May. After May, the price of tomatoes, red onions and green beans slowed down. The price of cauliflower was 1.6 percent higher than a year earlier, while in May it was even cheaper by 2.2 percent. The annual price increase of 27.6 percent for tomatoes is 4.2 percentage points lower than the previous month, red onions went up by 13.0 percent more in June than a year ago, instead of 27.7 percent in May, and green beans went up by 6.2 percent instead of 36.3 percent in May. percent more expensive than a year ago.
The prices of fruits, cereals and potatoes also increased
Among fruits, the price of apples was 3.6 percent lower than last June, while in May it was still 14.9 percent lower than a year earlier, and the price of pears rose by 6.5 percentage points to 25.4 percent. The purchase price of cereals is on average 71.1 percent higher than in June of last year, which means an annual increase of 2.3 percentage points lower than in May. The slowdown was caused by corn, which showed an annual increase of 59.9 percent, which was 14.5 percentage points lower than in May. The price increase of wheat accelerated by 13.2 percentage points to 83.0 percent, and the price increase of rye and oats continued to increase compared to the rate in May. The 5.7 percent increase in the price of potatoes is 6.0 percentage points lower than the previous month.
Livestock breeders were also happy with the rising prices
The purchase price of slaughter pigs rose by 38.6 percent, as in May, but the price of slaughter cattle jumped by 9.7 percentage points, making it 45.9 percent higher than last June. The price of slaughter poultry was on average 50.0 percent higher than last June, which is 7.1 percentage points higher than in May. Like the average, the price of poultry increased by 50.7 percent in one year and accelerated by 6.4 percentage points, the purchase price of geese jumped by 26.7 percentage points to 57.8 percent, the price of turkey was 37.5 percent higher, which is 4.6 percentage points higher faster than the rise in May, while the purchase price of live ducks rose by 2.1 percentage points to 61.1 percent.
