Good news about the mandatory drinks offering in bars and restaurants
Ruling 14/2024 (VII. 8.) AB by the Constitutional Court of Hungary means that only beer sales – with the exception of draught beer – fall under the scope of the unilateral contractual clause or declaration rule: this means the beers of at least two different brewers must be made available to customers per product. There is no longer such an obligation for soft drinks, fruit drinks, fruit juices and fruit nectars, mineral water and sparkling water (soda water).
