High spirits at the 20th wine festival
The 20th Buda Castle Wine Festival, held on 7-11 September and sponsored by 20-year-old SPAR, attracted a large number of visitors and the best winemakers and wine merchants in the country.
A large number of foreign wines and a wide range of culinary treats also awaited guests. In the VinAgora tent visitors had a chance to test their skills in wine tasting. Winners of the Wine of the Festival prize were (in five categories): dry white – Grand Selection Tokaji Furmint Barrique 2009 (Tokaj Kereskedőház Zrt), rosé – Varsányi Egri Rosé 2010 (Varsányi Pincészet Kft), red – Arcanum Cabernet franc 2007 (Vincze Borászat Kft), naturally sweet white – Royal Tokaji Áts cuvée 2009 (Royal Tokaji Borászati Zrt), Tokaj wine specialty – Prémium Selection Tokaji Aszú 5-butt 2002 (Tokaj Kereskedőház Zrt).
