The tourism sector in Gyula had a good year in 2022
Almost 564,000 guest nights were registered at Gyula accommodation in 2022, which is only 3 percent less than the data of 2019 before the coronavirus epidemic, so despite the difficulties, the tourism sector closed a good year in the spa town of Békés County, said Gyulai Turisztikai NKft. executive at a press conference on Thursday.
Aliz Komoróczki said at the press conference held in the city’s first four-star hotel, the Elizabeth Hotel, that the number of guest nights subject to tourism tax (ifa) was 403,000, of which the guests paid more than HUF 180 million in tourism tax.
According to the data of the National Tourist Information Center, last year’s sales revenue of Gyula accommodation was nearly HUF 7.6 billion, of which 27 percent was spent by foreign guests and 73 percent by domestic guests. 18 percent of the more than 200,000 guests came from abroad, more than 30,000 from Romania, which is the largest sending market; besides them, in the order of thousands from Serbia, Slovakia and Germany – added the executive.
