The US consumer sentiment deteriorated significantly in April
US consumer sentiment worsened much more than expected in April, according to the the preliminary results of the Michigan University’s regular monthly survey, which were published on Friday.
The consumer sentiment index stood at 96.9 points in April, after the 98.4 points in March.
Analysts expected a less deteriorating index of 98 points.
In April last year, the indicator stood at 98.8, so the consumer sentiment deteriorated, compared to the previous year. (MTI)
