The willingness of the domestic workforce to move has increased significantly
According to this year’s Trenkwalder Mobility Index, 53 percent of employees are willing to move from their current place of residence: two-thirds of them are thinking of a domestic destination, and one-third of them are thinking about a foreign destination.
The employees are moderately satisfied with their current situation: the value of the Satisfaction Index showing their working and living conditions was 5.9 on a national average on the evaluation scale between 1-10, which shows a decrease of 0.5 points compared to last year’s 6.4.
Following its introduction last year, Trenkwalder carried out its research on the topic of labor mobility, which is considered to fill a gap in the domestic market, during which the responses of more than 3,000 employees were evaluated. The answers revealed that the workforce’s mobility skills have increased significantly over the past year: 53 percent of them are ready to leave their current residence under the right conditions, which is significantly higher than the 35 percent measured last year. The largest proportion of people living in the north-east and south-west counties would move there, Baranya (65%) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (64%) counties, as well as – perhaps somewhat surprisingly – Vas county (69%) show outstanding values , in the latter area, however, the proportion of those who would move abroad (41%) or to another settlement within the county (37%) is much higher.
