EU’s agri-food exports increased significantly in 2016
The European Union’s agri-food exports increased outstandingly in 2016, exceeding the previous year’s figure with 1.7 billion euros, reaching 130.7 billion euros – the European Commission said on Monday.
According to the study of the European Commission, the agri-food sector gave 7.5 percent of the total merchandise exports of the European Union (EU) while 6.6 percent of imports in 2016. Almost half (18.8 billion euros) of last year’s export value (39.3 billion euros) was achieved by this sector. (MTI)
