The wealth of Hungarian households increased significantly
By the end of the second quarter, the financial assets of households had increased to 63,191 billion HUF, which is an increase of 1,823 billion HUF, compared to the previous quarter, and an increase of 5,992 billion HUF on an annual basis. The level of household liabilities was 10,850 billion HUF, with a quarterly increase of 367 billion HUF, while the annual change was an increase of 1,431 billion HUF. Thus, as a result of both, net financial assets increased by 1,456 billion HUF to 52,341 billion HUF.
On a transactional basis, the fact that cash increased again by 225 billion HUF, in addition to 447 billion HUF in demand deposits and by 56 billion HUF in “time deposits” played a significant role in the increase in assets. (origo)
