German and euro area economic expectations improved significantly in January

Investor sentiment improved in Germany and in the euro area
In January, the economic expectations index rose 21.8 points to 51.7 points from the previous month in Germany in the ZEW investor sentiment survey. It last stood higher than this in July 2021, at 63.3 points. The market expected a much lower-than-actual value of 32.0 points in January, almost the same as in December. (MTI)
