Consumer sentiment in Germany has improved significantly
According to the results of the July survey published on GfK’s website on Thursday, the indicator rose by nine points to minus 9.6 points from minus 18.6 points in June, compared to the expectations of minus 12.0 points.
Among the components of the sentiment index, indicators quantifying consumers’ income expectations and willingness to spend, as well as the assessment of the economic outlook, have improved significantly. On the other hand, the willingness to save has decreased, which also has a positive effect on the development of the consumer sentiment index. (MTI)
