They fear a significant rise in food prices, but Hungarians are trying to eat healthier
The vast majority of Hungarians believe that rising food prices will have the greatest impact on their daily lives in the near future, according to the latest Hungarian survey by the Edenred Food Barometer. At the same time, more than four-fifths of the respondents also take care to eat healthier, while 94 percent of them are also concerned about food waste.

The focus is on healthier eating
The vast majority of Hungarians – 96.3 percent – feel that high food prices will have the biggest impact on their lives in the period ahead, but nearly three quarters of respondents mentioned energy prices and 41.9 percent are also worried about rising travel costs, it turns out. from this year’s Edenred Food Barometer survey. Based on all this, it can be concluded that the majority of people are aware of the economic situation, perceive the growing food inflation and the rising utility costs are an increasing burden for them.
According to the research, 91.4 percent of the respondents expect a further increase in food prices, 90.3 percent expect the same in the case of utility costs, and 74.7 percent fear a further increase in their travel expenses. For clothing, on the other hand, this ratio is somewhat lower – around 50 percent – and 56.4 percent of the respondents expect restaurant costs to rise. By the way, the latter also allows us to conclude that rising restaurant prices do not prevent a broad social stratum from eating at restaurants.
