Consumer sentiment improved in the United States
The consumer sentiment improved less than expected in the United States in August – according to the regular monthly survey of the University of Michigan. The final results were published on Friday.
In August, the consumer sentiment index rose to 96.8 points from the 93.4 points of July, which was the lowest in the last eight months.
Analysts were expecting a final score of 97.4 points in August.
Among the sub-indices, the consumer expectations for the next six months rose from the 80.5 points of July to 87.7 points of August, and the sub-index reflecting the current situation dropped from 113.4 to 110.9 points. (MTI)
