Consumer confidence has improved in the United States
After the decline in December, consumer confidence in the United States strengthened in January.
The Conference Board economics research institute announced on Tuesday that its consumer confidence index rose from 123.1 points in December to 125.4 points. Analysts expected the index to remain on the level of December.
The indicator of the current situation declined slightly from 156.5 points to 155.3 points, while the index reflecting expectations increased from the 100.5 points of December to 105.8 points. (MTI)
