GfK: German consumer sentiment index improved
Instead of the expected stagnation, the Nuremberg-based GfK Economic Research Institute’s German consumer sentiment index rose slightly in October, while consumers’ willingness to buy and economic expectations improved, but their income expectations worsened slightly.
GfK forecasts for Thursday that the consumer sentiment index could rise from 9.7 points in August and September to 9.9 points in October. Analysts predicted unchanged value of 9.7 points for October. (MTI)
