Consumer sentiment in the United States improved more than previously estimated in October, according to definitive data from the University of Michigan’s monthly regular survey.
According to the final data of the October survey, the consumer sentiment index has improved to its highest level since March, to 81.8 points from 80.4 points in the previous month. The preliminary October figure was 81.2 points.
Despite a significant improvement, the index is lagging behind pre-crisis levels. In the last month not affected by the coronavirus crisis, February, the sentiment index stood at 101 points. (MTI)
