The lowest inflation of the past four months occured in Germany in January
After a nearly thirty-year high in December, inflation in Germany fell to a four-month low in January, the German federal statistics office Destatis announced on Friday.

German inflation decreased
The final value of inflation in January was 4.9 percent, the same as the preliminary data. Inflation was 5.3 percent in December, the highest since 1992. Inflation slowed for the first time in seven months in January, to its lowest level since 4.1 percent in September.
Compared to December, consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in January. The monthly price increase was 0.5 percent in December. (MTI)
