In January, the increase in food prices moderated to 5.7 percent in France
In France, the annual rate of consumer price inflation slowed to 3.1 percent in January from 3.7 percent in December, according to the final data posted on the website of the French statistical office INSEE on Friday.
In a monthly comparison, a decrease of 0.3 percent was measured in January, following an increase of 0.1 percent in December.
In January, the increase in food prices decreased to 5.7 percent from 7.2 percent in December, the increase in energy prices decreased from 5.7 percent to 1.9 percent, and the increase in the price of industrial products slowed down from 1.4 percent to 0.7 percent. Services rose in price by 3.2 percent after 3.1 percent in December.
