Magazine: The golden age of Ivan
Ever since the change of regime nearly all Russian restaurants were doomed to failure in Budapest. But soon Arbat shops appeared near Cora hypermarkets and were so successful that they spread to the city centre. They are run by a Russian-owned company and sell hundreds of different delicacies, imported from Germany. Arbat’s most popular products are smoked and marinated fish, caviar, special sweets (such as condensed milk), canned food, kvass, special dairy products and convenience food. At the Arbat fast food restaurant at Cora in Fót authentic Slavic dishes are prepared by a Russian and a Ukrainian cook – according to reviews on the Internet the food is brilliant.
