ITM: countries opposed to EU road transport regulations may appeal to the European Court of Justice
Specialists from nine Member States have made further attempts to persuade the European Commission to take steps to mitigate the expected harmful effects of the first mobility package, or even to seek recourse to the European Court of Justice to repeal the harmful provisions of the package – the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) told MTI on Tuesday.
Prior to Tuesday’s meeting, nine leaders from the nine Member States sent a joint letter to the Executive Vice-President of the Commission expressing concern that the vehicle would be required to return to its home Member State.
The countries agree that the proposed measures will give non-EU carriers a competitive advantage and are in many respects at odds with European climate protection efforts. (MTI)
