PENNY once again supported thousands of needy people!
PENNY continued its more than ten-year tradition and this year rejoined the “Donation Convoy” action of the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület. The convoy launched on the occasion of the World Food Day was made up of twenty-one vehicles that transported donations from the participating organizations. The store chain’s contribution of thirty pallets consisted mainly of dry goods, non-perishable food items and soft drinks, the value of the offering was close to HUF six million.
On the occasion of World Food Day this year, a convoy carrying food donations worth more than seventy-five million forints passed through Budapest, providing assistance to a total of thirteen thousand people in need. The total weight of the donations from the twenty-one domestic companies is fifty tons, and PENNY contributed to the initiative with a truckload of relief goods – high-quality, budget-friendly goods. These include Sissy, Aranykosár and San Fabio own-brand products.

For us, activities related to social responsibility are extremely important, which is why we carry out numerous collaborations with civil organizations and other important partners. We are proud that with the help of this kind of cooperation, we can not only fight against food waste and provide assistance to disadvantaged people, but also strengthen our sustainability efforts,” said Eszter Kazatsay, Head of Communications at PENNY in Hungary.
