Hungarian students once again finished in the top spot in the Taiwanese innovation competition, with both Hungarian competitors taking fourth place out of 700 competitors from 32 countries at the Taiwan International Science Fair, the Hungarian Innovation Association (MISZ) told MTI on Monday.

According to the information, Júlia Hajsz Natali, a student at Deutsche Schule Budapest – Thomas Mann High School, has developed a 3D-printed, customizable, partially absorbable wound dressing that results in more effective healing and less waste.

Dániel Czapák, a student at Medgyessy Ferenc High School and a student from the Art and Design High School created a wireless system capable of predicting the failure of industrial machines.

The Hungarian competitors previously achieved excellent results at the National Science and Innovation Olympiad, thus earning the right to prove their knowledge in the international field, the announcement said.

The Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF) competition was founded in 2002 by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education, and students delegated by international partners first joined the event in 2010.

This year’s The competition was attended by high school students with more than 500 research projects in 13 categories, who tested their knowledge at the Taiwan National Science Education Center – the Hungarian Innovation Association informed.
