Once again, customers can decide which NGO JYSK supports
JYSK will open a new store in Váci út in Budapest at the end of August. On the occasion of the new store openings, the retail store chain organizes a charity campaign to support the local community every time. With the involvement of customers and the public, the NGO that receives a HUF 500,000 JYSK voucher as a gift is selected. In the financial year 2023/2024, JYSK has already handed over four new stores, and by the end of 2024 – beyond Váci út – two more stores will be opened according to plans – each opening will support a local organization.
JYSK regularly opens new stores in Hungary: in the 2023/2024 fiscal year, the company already opened a 1,000-square-meter unit in Szarvas, a 1,023-square-meter store in Kispest, a 1,014-square-meter store in Bicske, and a 958-square-meter store in Várpalota. The fifth new store in Budapest, on Váci út, awaits customers from the end of August.
When designing the new stores, JYSK follows its own sustainability standards, the so-called store 3.0 concept. In the spirit of this, special attention is paid to energy efficiency, which is why, for example, the department stores get new LED lighting, and motion sensors are installed in the social rooms. Separate mattress studios are also set up in the stores, where customers can not only try the products, but also get advice from JYSK experts.
Next year it will be 20 years since JYSK has been present in our country, and in recent decades the Danish company has become part of the lives of Hungarian people. This is why it is important for JYSK to support local communities. That is why the retail chain connects store openings with a charitable donation each time.
“Just as with previous store openings, we are also placing a lot of emphasis on supporting local communities, and we would also like to support an NGO with HUF 500,000 for the opening of the JYSK store on Váci út. We are once again asking for the public’s help in choosing the donated foundation”
– said Krisztina Szilvási, communication manager of JYSK Hungary, who also added about the donation process:
